THE SECRET OF FACEBOOK.

On 4th February 2004, Facebook was launched by its markers; Mark Zuckerberg together with his friends from Harvard College; Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
It was created with the main aim of linking students of Harvard. It was later expanded and its services reached schools in Boston Area, Ivy League Schools, and Stanford University.
According to Harvard Crimson, Zuckerberg created a program called "FaceMash" in 2003 which got a series of changes from "FaceMash" to "TheFacebook" and finally "Facebook".

The main aim was to link students in high schools across the world. It was to enable students to share notes and pictures and later many more features were added and that remained it main aim until  December 14, 2012.

Now Facebook seeks to get you addicted and a whole lot of things which the general public was not notified of. Some of them are below:

1. Loudmouths now have gigantic megaphones
Since everybody is on Facebook, one can expect that it will in some way mirror the behavior of society in general. In the real world, however, people’s opinions only have a limited reach.
Facebook is a godsend for people who love to talk but have nothing to say. Here is a network that doesn’t care about originality or the quality of content. In the time it takes to create something original, they could share dozens of things.
Just like its features, Facebook algorithms are equally stupid. Share more, get noticed more. An ideal Facebook would have been a directory of people and their connections. People can message each other, post text updates and pictures.
In the end, there is a lot to learn from this massive social experiment. Your friend circle and impulsive actions such as ‘likes’ cannot predict what you want to read. Indiscriminate sharing is a bad idea. A large social network isn’t the best way to find information.
We need to go back to smaller communities. Where people aren’t lost in the mediocre averages of large networks. That’s where ideas flourish.

2. Get you Addicted
Facebook now seeks to get users addicted so as to be able to continue making money. Yes, you waste all your precious money and time posting, liking, sharing and commenting while they make money and with this health is decreased.
Now every kid knows that they besides social networking, they can also play games on Facebook.  The bombardment of tons of games available on Facebook, besides the social networking feature, the Facebook has very much affected the physical as well as mental health of the people.
Now due to Facebook, lesser children play physical games. Of course, PSP and other video consoles have their impact too but due to Facebook, more people have stopped their physical activities. Being online on Facebook for social networking and for playing games for long times, Facebook has ruined people’s eye-sight, mental and physical health. The majority of the Facebook users are school, college or university going people. Nowadays there won’t be anyone who doesn’t have his or her Facebook account and having Facebook account means long hours will be spent on Facebook.  Therefore studies are very much affected due to use of Facebook.  Pupils now even use Facebook during the class, while paying lesser attention to the lecturer. What worse could be than this?

3.Scam
There has been a scam called the 419 Scam. In this, a hacker would hack your Facebook friend's account and then from his account he will message you saying things like "Hey, I am in trouble, I have been looted on gunpoint on the road and I need money, please send 100$ to me urgently."
If you have a business and run a Business page on Facebook and one of your employees is hacked, you can imagine how much harm the hacker can cause to your business, for posting/commenting things that are bad for your business. According to The New York Times, the scammers have been contacting people via Facebook and Facebook-owned Instagram, pretending to be Mark Zuckerberg, and telling them they’ve won a big cash prize on a “Facebook lottery.” Victims are told that to receive their prize-money they must first wire a “delivery fee” to “Facebook.” But after the first transfer has been made, additional ones are demanded in order for the prize to be sent. To be clear, there is no Facebook lottery, nor any prize money.

4. Relationship Problems.
Let’s face it, Facebook is one of the most popular social media sites around. You can share almost anything you want, and at the same time learn a lot about your friends and family. You can also connect with old friends from the past. This can be a lot of fun. But, at the same time, it can cause you to feel insecure.
If you are in a relationship and you start seeing your friends and family's photos of relationships that probably shows them happy and in love all the time, you may start feeling insecure about your own relationship, especially if you are having relationship problems at the time.

Spending too much time on Facebook can cause relationship problems.

Needless to say, this can cause your partner to get jealous, especially if you are commenting on your friends' photos and status all day, rather than spending quality time with your partner. Also, this can allow an ex to see you on Facebook.

If your partner would like to spend time with you and you are on Facebook, your partner will feel left out. If you feel like you have to respond to Facebook right away, then this could be a problem. Your partner wants to feel like a priority in your life, don’t let Facebook get in the way.

Spending time on Facebook while in bed can put a damper on intimacy and affect sleep.

We’ve all been there. You just want to check on one more friend. This, of course, leads to checking on more friends and posts. The next thing you know an hour has gone by.
You look over at your partner and he is fast asleep. Although, you feel wide awake. Even though you need to get up early the next day. Before bed can be a great time to reconnect with your partner. If this continues to happen, he will begin to feel left out and resentful.

So even with these few points, we know that the main aim of Facebook being invented has totally veered off.
