On 4th February 2004, Facebook was launched by its markers; Mark Zuckerberg together with his friends from Harvard College; Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. It was created with the main aim of linking students of Harvard. It was later expanded and its services reached schools in Boston Area, Ivy League Schools, and Stanford University. According to Harvard Crimson, Zuckerberg created a program called "FaceMash" in 2003 which got a series of changes from "FaceMash" to "TheFacebook" and finally "Facebook". The main aim was to link students in high schools across the world. It was to enable students to share notes and pictures and later many more features were added and that remained it main aim until December 14, 2012.
